v1.5.0 — Add-on Modules (2 October 2026)

New

  • Add-on modules — Admin → Configuration → Modules installs official add-ons in one click (free ones) or with their purchase code (paid ones), with a live progress bar. Updates, switch on/off and uninstall (data kept unless you choose to delete it) are on each module's row. See Add-on Modules
  • Upload module — install a signed .licentra-module.zip without the store; in developer mode, plain module zips go into modules-dev/
  • Sell add-ons per plan — Admin → Plans → Modules included, plus Admin → Users → Extra modules to grant one creator an add-on their plan doesn't include. Creators without it don't see its pages
  • A broken module only breaks itself — modules are signed, isolated and switched off automatically after errors; exams, payments and the rest of the site keep working. Emergency LICENTRA_MODULES_SAFE=true turns all modules off
  • Build your own — Module Development documents the module API; Modules → More → Download example module gives you a working module with a creator page, an admin page, a public page, an attempt hook, a daily task and its own table
  • License & Updates now lives inside the admin panel, with step-by-step update progress and a modules summary
  • Gradebook, a free add-on — every creator gets a student × quiz grid of best scores with class averages, CSV export, and printable report cards to share with students. Install it from Modules → Available add-ons. See Gradebook

Fixed

  • Prices with cents are shown exactly as charged (a $9.99 quiz showed as "$10" on quiz cards, the quiz page and plan checkout)

Upgrading from 1.4.x

Install with Update now on the License & Updates page. The update adds two columns (plans.modules, users.extra_modules); nothing else changes.

v1.4.0 — License & One-Click Updates (30 September 2026)

New

  • One-click updates — Admin → Configuration → License & Updates shows your installed version, checks for new versions (daily, or on demand with Check for updates) and installs them with one click. Only changed files are replaced, everything that changes is backed up first, and the previous files are restored automatically if anything fails
  • Translations survive updates — strings you edited in the Translation Dashboard are kept; new strings from an update are added alongside them
  • License activation — the first time the admin opens /admin, Quizora asks for your Envato purchase code and a contact email. Only the admin panel needs a license: creators, customers, exams and the public site keep working in every license state
  • Local and staging installs (localhost, .test, staging.yourdomain.com) don't use up your license; move your license to a new domain yourself from /license

  • The weekly license check and the License section in Settings were removed; activation replaces them

Upgrading from 1.3.x

This one update is installed the usual way: upload the new files (keep your .env), then run php artisan migrate --force and php artisan optimize:clear. Open /admin and enter your purchase code. From now on, updates are one click. See License & Updates.

v1.3.1 — Exam Panel Improvements (29 September 2026)

New

  • End Exam prompt on the last question — reaching the final question offers to submit, or cancel to review
  • Clear response button in the exam panel to unselect an answer
  • Question Bank supports rich content — WYSIWYG, KaTeX math and images, same as quiz questions

Improvements

  • Exam timer now counts down from the attempt's start time, so it stays accurate after a page refresh or when the browser throttles a background tab
  • Private (enrolled-only) quiz page shows a single Join call to action until the student is enrolled
  • Join codes are no longer case-sensitive
  • v1.3.0 features (rich content, enrolled-only exams, anti-cheating, AI advice) are enabled by default
  • Installer now checks for PHP 8.3, matching the bundled dependencies

Fixes

  • Students invited by email can start a private exam before their invite is claimed
  • Fixed an error after starting or joining a private quiz without access
  • Compiled frontend assets ship with the download, so fresh installs render correctly without Node.js
